Fitness Advocate and Success Story Charles Cicciarella

charles-cicciarella-panoramaCharles Cicciarella (a.k.a. Chuckie) was an unhappy, morbidly obese man tipping the scales at about 380lbs. Fast forward four years - he is a HAPPY, and SUCCESSFUL man weighing approx. 225lbs! How did he do it? Why did he do it? Find out more about Chuckie’s remarkable life-altering journey as he opens up and shares the most intimate, intriguing and inspirational details of his road to success.

Charles Cicciarella has joined Michael Seril’s Army of fitness advocates for kids. Charles doesn’t just “pay lip service” to the cause…No! He has lived the life that he wants to help our kids avoid; an unhealthy, alienated life filled with taunts and jeers from other kids and adults and the pain of seeing those he loves fight some really tough health-battles. Charles is an amazing, very likable man whose story will inspire you, make you smile, and bring a tear or two, as well.

Be sure to look for Charles’ book, “Life Is A Fat Onion”; soon to be released!

This is why Charles is fighting for our kids:

According to recent statistics, almost one third of all children today are at risk for becoming overweight, while an astonishing sixteen percent of them already are. Childhood obesity is quickly becoming an epidemic. Something NEEDS to be done! I am extremely honored to be involved with Excellence through Exercise Foundation’s mission to change the face of childhood obesity. I am excited to be part of an organization that is geared towards improving physical education programs in communities nationwide and eventually globally. Being an overweight child and adolescent, I can directly relate to the problems and stigmas attached to this problem.

Five years ago my world changed forever. I decided to get healthy and live life. With diabetes, cancer and heart disease in my immediate family, I was headed to an early grave. I was 28 and tipping the scales at just under 400 lbs.  I hated everything about myself – the way I looked, what I did, how I felt and my over all outlook on life. Things seemed pretty grim, putting it mildly. With the loss of a very close family member I began to realize that life was precious. I was given a ticket to live, but was not taking advantage of it. Friends were growing up, having families, getting promotions – unfortunately I was growing in all the wrong areas! My waist hit an all time width of 56 inches. I had to do something about it.  I had to wake up from this nightmare!

Through willpower, belief in myself, perseverance and determination, I began living life differently. I began to move my rusty limbs. I introduced water to my system. I started eating green things that were actually good for me. I began making friends with the same vision. I began letting go of the past. I set realistic goals and achieved them. I surrounded myself with positive energy. Within a matter of a year I lost most of the weight I had lugged around with me for the majority of my young adult life. It’s been four years and I’m going strong – 165 lbs gone and counting! I’m facing extremely difficult times on the family front at the moment, and being healthy is allowing me to deal with it. I am grateful I intervened when I did. Overall, I am feeling great and looking to help change the lives of others – especially our children.

I decided to approach the media to share my story. I have appeared on the Dr. Phil Show, on every major Canadian newscast, in national newspapers and on radio. I launched my inspirational “real person” web site – www.massivemeltdown.com. To my amazement, I have garnered over 3 million visitors – check it out!
